GIE Cibao Immortals clinch United Cup title

One of the most interesting games of round 4 was a derby match between two teams from Dominican Republic. First ranked Immortals outleveled host CDF (1-3) 110-68. Immortals dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to CDF's 26. Immortals players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by American guard Lee Langstaff (185, college: Tallahassee) who scored that evening 28 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals and forward Angel Rivas (198-1993) supported him with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five Immortals players scored in double figures. Even 28 points by guard Isaac Brito-Vasquez (193, college: TMU) did not help to save the game for CDF. Forward Julio Pascual (203-2000, college: Cumberland) added 10 points for lost side. CDF's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Immortals maintains first position with 3-1 record, which they share with Team Cabra and Padre Gran. CDF lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with three games lost.
